Marie joins The Grassroot Project after serving as the first-ever Senior Women’s Administrator/Title IX Coordinator for Athletics for the DC State Athletic Association. At the DCSAA, she managed the student-athlete academic scholarship program, the student-athlete advisory council and led a Title IX working group which informed the passage of historic legislation in K-12 athletics.

A lifelong sports enthusiast, Marie co-founded the EagleBank Bowl (renamed the Military Bowl presented by Northrop Grumman), a college football game benefitting military families which has generated well over $30 million in economic development since 2008. In winning the inaugural 2008 license, Marie negotiated terms of engagement and other contracts with ESPN, the United States Naval Academy, United States Military Academy and the Atlantic Coast Conference. In 2010, she was presented with the Outstanding Service to Amateur Football award by the National Capital Region Chapter of the National Football Foundation.

Prior to the Military Bowl, Marie served as the Director of the Office of Government, International and Community Relations at the George Washington University, and as a Senior Advisor to former Mayor Anthony Williams and former DC City Council Chairman Linda Cropp.

Alongside her entrepreneurial projects, she continues to volunteer her time and expertise in education, athletics, entrepreneurship and serving veterans and active duty military. She holds a B.A. from Regis University and an M.A. from George Washington University. She hails from Colorado and currently resides in Washington DC.
