Charles Rominiyi is a Portsmouth, VA native but is no stranger to the DC metro area. Charles pursued his undergraduate studies at Old Dominion University where he lead Project Alpha, a national program of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Inc. that provides current and accurate sex education to males ages 12-15. After receiving his BS in exercise science, Charles obtained his Masters of Health Sciences in Health Education from Western Carolina University. At WCU, he worked as a coordinator in the university recreation center and helped bring creative recreational programming to campus. Charles was a Global Health Corps Fellow, working as Program Manager for Core Programs at TGP from 2015-2016. Prior to joining The Grassroot Project, Charles completed a year of service with the AIDS United AmeriCorps program as a Youth Health Educator at Metro TeenAIDS. During his time at Metro TeenAIDS, he provided HIV/STI testing and risk reduction counseling to youth in the District of Columbia. He also facilitated workshops to empower youth in the areas of leadership, workforce development, and college readiness.
Charles is a certified Health Fitness Specialist at VIDA Fitness and he enjoys helping individuals optimize their health through functional exercise and nutrition counseling. Charles loves playing basketball, biking, and fishing in his spare time.
