Treniyyah Anderson
Program Coordinator

Treniyyah Anderson (she/her/hers) is a native Philadelphian and brings a depth of experience in community organizing and youth development to our Philadelphia program launch. She has served as a program coordinator at Grassroots Health in Washington, DC since 2021, and she recently moved to Philadelphia with a passion to lead our expansion into Philadelphia middle schools. Treniyyah coordinates programs and works closely with middle schoolers, PE teachers, student-athletes, and community members to implement effective health promotion programming.

Prior to Grassroots Health, she spent 9 months working as an educator for the Boys and Girls Club in Anchorage, Alaska. She has also co-authored a paper titled, “Designing Service-Learning to Enhance Social Justice Commitments: A Critical Reflection Tool” and tutored high-school students. In college, she wore many hats; she started a podcast and served as a research assistant to a pediatric neurologist. Treniyyah has also studied and lived in Johannesburg, South Africa, and Venice, Italy. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Cultural Anthropology and Global Health from Duke University.

For her work at Grassroots Health and her passion for community change, Treniyyah was recently selected into Laureus USA’s Sport for Good Cities Emerging Leaders Program.

Trigga Tre is tenacious. She received her name in high school due to one’s ability to hold a basketball, take a defensive charge, and still get a “And 1”! She was born and raised in Philadelphia which lends to her killer swag, sense of humor, and outstanding cooking abilities. Trigga (or Trig) is like an onion – you may cry as you peel back the layers because she is a strong lady, but once you get through, she has a lot of flavor and dimensions to offer. Trigga Tre enjoys being active, testing out and sharing her culinary skills, singing to R&B music, and most importantly, being outside for the vibes (as long as it doesn’t interfere with her bedtime).
